Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz - was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents named her Winona for the town she grew up in. Her father Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder's father is from the Jewish family. Ryder considers herself Jewish. Ryder has two half-siblings younger than her, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's parents moved her along with her siblings to Mendocino County California when Ryder reached seven.
