April Ross
April Ross was one of just a handful of women beach volleyball players who have won medals at multiple Olympics. Alix klineman, who is taking part for the very first time at Tokyo's Olympic Games, will try to earn her third Olympic medal. Ross aims to earn her Olympic debut gold but she is also aiming to win even more. Perhaps this is her only opportunity, given that she is 39 years old. Over her final two years as a player, she led the Trojans to the summit winning successive national titles. In 2003-2004, she was named the top female volleyball player at a collegiate level in America through the Honda Sports Award. Ross played international relations as a major at USC. Margie Ross did not get to witness Ross achieve beach volleyball's top levels. In 2001 when Ross was in her sophomore year studying at USC her mother died of breast cancer. She has kept her parents close to her heart. Margie has been an inspiration throughout her life, as well as on the beach.
